J’ adore de Monaco! The principality is one of my favorite places to visit during summer, when I stay at the Côte D’azur. I have been to Monaco several times and want to share my tips with you.
How to get to Monaco
Us people who don’t own a helicopter or don’t have friends with a helicopter (If I was a rich girl, nananannanaa..), should visit Monaco by either car or train. Car lovers, definitely go to Monaco by car as you will see lots of supercars overtaking you on the highway when heading towards the principality. I mean, an Aston Martin Vanquish or a Ferrari 488 spider are the most beautiful in their natural habitat, right? On the road that is. And because I am a supercar lover as wel, I always go to Monaco by car.
Where to park
If you are visiting Monaco for just one day, choose on which side of Monaco you want to start. By that I mean: on the southern part (Fontvieille) or northern part (Monte-Carlo etc.). Want to see the south side first, then I suggest parking your car at Parking des Pêcheurs. The parking garage is a bit difficult to find on your own, so use your navigation. Want to see the northern part? Then park at the Parking Grimaldi Forum.
What to do
Ofcourse, the main thing to do is to look around and enjoy Monaco. When starting on the south side of Monaco and when parked at des Pêcheurs, take the elevator and escalator to go directly to the Musée Océanographique de Monaco. Got enough time? The museum has an extraordinary aquarium, so go and visit! From there on it’s only a short walk to the Exotic garden, Cathédrale de Monaco (where Princesse Grace’s grave is) and Le Palais. And ofcourse, you can shop! Near the casino and hotel (northern side of Monaco) are the grand shops, such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel. But Monaco also has an Zara, for us ladies who don’t want to spend too much in one day. Go inside the casino, stroll around the neighbourhood and visit the beach as well.

Where to eat and drink
If you’re very hungry and want to have an affordable meal, then go to the center of the boulevard of La Condamine (Route de la Piscine). You will find several affordable pizzeria’s and other little restaurants. When sitting there, you have a wonderful view of the harbour and the pool. Want to go out? Then have drinks at on of the several hotel bars, such as L’Horizon Deck(rooftop bar!) at the Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel.
Got a little more to spend? Then go to Le Café de Paris, across the hotel de Paris and next to Le Casino. A bottle of Coca Cola costs €7,5. You get a large bottle though ;). Click here for the menu including prices.
Le cafê de Paris isn’t cheap, but comes with a great view. Again: car lovers will enjoy this view, as supercars and oldtimers continuously drive by.
Those are my tips! I hope you find this article useful and will enjoy Monaco as much as I do 🙂
